EXPLORATION DE PUERTO RICAN CULTURE PROGRAM
Exploration in Puerto Rican Culture is a partnership between the Springfield Public School and the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a Commonwealth of Massachusetts agency. The program is funded by an Arts model Development and Dissemination Grant from the U.S. Department of Education.
The following Springfield School have teachers who are participating in the program: Beal, Chestnut, Forest Park, Freedman, Gerena, Indian Orchard, Lincoln, Rebecca Johnson, Van Sickle, and Zanetti.
Lydia Perez, Founder/CEO of the Puerto Rican Institute for Arts (PRIAA), in the State of Rhode Island and Director of Yoruba 2 was invited as a presenter to introduce Caribbean Arts program. A series of workshop of Introduction of Bomba and Plena- Afro-Pueto Rican Music and Dance.
2007-2010
Explorations in Puerto Rican Culture is an educational program, for grade 3-8 teachers in Springfield, that aims to incorporate aspects of Puerto Rican culture into the classroom. The three-year program involves forty teachers from ten Springfield schools working in teams with arts educations. Together, they attend week-long institutes in the summer and in-service days in the fall and spring. In each session, they develop five-day units of study that integrate Puerto Rican culture into student learning.

Caribbean Program runs by members of Yoruba 2 for fifteen years around Rhode Island and, since 2009 worked in New England. The program was selected to work in school such as: Zanetti, Chestnut, Indian Orchard and Beal school in Springfield, Massachusetts.
